Overview

The Pet Adoption Dashboard provides manufacturers with insight into performance tied specifically to pet adoption programs. This dashboard focuses exclusively on adoption-driven activity, including customer acquisition, redemption costs, and sales attributed to adoption programs.


Dashboard Structure

The Pet Adoption Dashboard contains three tabs:

  1. Pet Adoptions

  2. Retailers

  3. Coupons

Each tab highlights a different layer of adoption program performance.


Key Definitions (Used Throughout)

Adoption-Only Customers

Customers who entered the ecosystem only through a pet adoption and have not made additional qualifying purchases beyond adoption-related activity.

New Customers

Customers making their first-ever tracked purchase within Astro at your brand.

Existing Customers

Customers who were already active in Astro at your brand prior to the adoption event.

Customer Cost

The total cost associated with incentives or rewards funded by the manufacturer.

Customer Sales

The total MSRP sales attributed to customers participating in adoption programs.

Total Redeemed Item Cost

The total manufacturer-funded cost of redeemed items tied to adoption activity.

Costs vs Sales

The net comparison between total costs incurred and sales generated.


Tab 1: Pet Adoptions


What This Tab Shows

This tab provides a high-level summary of adoption performance across:

  • Categories

  • Adoption species (expandable)

  • Time

Top Summary Table

Metrics include:

  • # of Adoptions

  • # of Adoption-Only Customers

  • # of New Customers

  • New Customer Cost & Sales

  • # of Existing Customers

  • Existing Customer Cost & Sales

  • Total Redeemed Item Cost

  • Costs vs Sales

Adoption Trend Chart

The line chart displays adoption activity by Month of Adoption Date. The metric shown (e.g., # of Adoptions) can be changed using the Metric selector.

Retailer Performance Table

This table ranks retailers based on the selected metric and shows how adoption programs perform at the store level.

Clicking a retailer drills into more detailed views.


Tab 2: Retailers


What This Tab Shows

This tab provides a detailed, retailer-first view of pet adoption performance. It is designed to help manufacturers understand which retailers are driving adoption activity and how customer behavior differs within each retailer.

All dollar values shown are at MSRP.


Top Retailers Summary

The top table ranks retailers based on the selected Sort Top Retailers by metric (default: # of Adoptions).

Key columns include:

  • # of Adoptions – Total adoptions attributed to the retailer

  • # of Adoption-Only Customers – Customers whose only activity is adoption-related

  • # of New Customers – First-time Astro customers at your brand acquired through adoption

  • New Customer Cost – Manufacturer-funded cost tied to new customers

  • New Customer Sales – MSRP sales attributed to new customers

  • # of Existing Customers – Customers active prior to adoption

  • Existing Customer Cost – Cost associated with existing customers

  • Existing Customer Sales – Sales generated by existing customers

  • Total Redeemed Item Cost – Total cost of redeemed items

  • Costs vs Sales – Net comparison of cost vs sales (negative values indicate sales exceeded costs)

This view allows manufacturers to quickly identify high-impact retailers and evaluate cost efficiency.


Retailer Detail Section

Selecting a retailer from the top table filters the detailed view below.

This section breaks adoption performance down by:

  • Category

  • Adoption Species

Metrics shown mirror the summary table, allowing manufacturers to see what types of adoptions and species are driving results within each retailer.

You can expand or collapse Category and Adoption Species using the +/- icons to control the level of detail.


Why This Tab Matters

This tab helps manufacturers:

  • Identify retailers generating the most adoption-driven value

  • Understand the mix of new vs existing customers by retailer

  • Evaluate cost efficiency at the retailer level

  • Spot category or species-level performance patterns

This view is especially useful for retailer conversations, partnership reviews, and optimizing adoption-focused strategies.


Tab 3: Coupons


What This Tab Shows

This tab summarizes coupon activity tied to pet adoption programs.

Metrics include:

  • # of Coupons Issued

  • # of Coupons Redeemed

  • Coupon Redeemed Cost

Display Options

Coupon data can be displayed by:

  • Retailer

  • Other selectable groupings (via the Display By selector)

This view helps manufacturers evaluate coupon utilization and cost efficiency within adoption programs.
